The Best Christmas Jumpers Money Can Buy

As the party season approaches, Another Man’s Fashion Editor Peghah Maleknejad presents an edit of the best festive knits

The Christmas jumper can be traced back to the 1980s, first appearing on celebrities such as Andy Williams and Perry Como, they were later adopted by old people and, well, people who didn’t mind looking old. Then, in 2011, came Bridget Jones’s Diary and the reindeer jumper worn by Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) – it was a turning point, Christmas jumpers became something of a gag. The following year, Amazon saw an increase in sales of 600% and Topman sold 34 different designs, while Save the Children started #xmasjumperday to raise money. Five years on, the Christmas jumper is still going strong, appearing each December in 50 shades of naff. But that needn’t be the case. In the gallery below, Another Man’s Fashion Editor Peghah Maleknejad presents an edit of the best festive – and crucially, tasteful – knits.
