The Style and Strangeness of Frieze Art Fair

Photographer Alexander Coggin shoots not the art, but the people who came to see (and buy) it

The art world descended on Regent’s Park this weekend for Frieze London. Photographer Alexander Coggin – known for his tongue-in-cheek approach to reportage – went along and, instead of training his lens on the art, focussed it on the people who had come to see it. As his images show, these people are as interesting to look at as the paintings, sculptures and off-kilter performance pieces. Seen in the gallery below, they reveal the style and indeed the strangeness of the art fair.
