Join Another Man on a path towards illumination…
This season, a set of four sonic crusaders star on the covers of Another Man. First up, OLIVER SIM from The xx – photographed by Alasdair McLellan and styled by creative director Alister Mackie – reflects on a new version of himself in the run up to touring a new album. Back in the studio with The Horrors, FARIS BADWAN is changing the record again, photographed by Ethan James Green and styled by Alister Mackie. Nearing completion on a new album, the uncompromising twins behind These New Puritans, GEORGE & JACK BARNETT, are photographed by Alasdair McLellan and styled by Alister Mackie. And, lastly, artist ELIZABETH PEYTON presents a special cover starring Iceage frontman ELIAS BENDER RØNNENFELT.
Inside the issue, JARVIS COCKER invites everyone to join him in the collective dreamworld of Carl Jung’s The Red Book; in an exclusive portfolio, ELIZABETH PEYTON presents 12 pictures of Elias Bender Rønnenfelt; Wild Daughter’s JAMES JEANETTE meets Warhol wonderboy and Mapplethorpe muse DAVID CROLAND for a personal odyssey; and introducing LIAS SAOUDI’s Moonlandingz alter-ego and the filthy savior of pop, ‘Johnny Rocket’.
Elsewhere, ravers, travellers and truth seekers go on a trip in the best from the Spring/Summer 17 collections; a Prada happening in a sacred Italian wood, photographed by Brett Lloyd and styled by Charles Jeffrey; fashion spotlights on Kent & Curwen, Paul Smith and Fendi; magic crystals, pyramids of light and the Summer of Love.
Plus: a 32-page psychedelic document featuring a tour inside London’s College of Psychic Studies, the Dalí of Danish jewellery, the mad scientist who dropped acid with dolphins, the glittering granddaddy of queer cinema Jack Smith, Mati Klarwein’s mini-portal to another dimension, the Dutch design troupe who turned Swinging London technicolour… and more!
