Dunhill’s S/S20 Campaign Pays Tribute to the Classic Car
- TextOrla Brennan
Titled Automotive, Dunhill’s Spring/Summer 2020 campaign looks to the world of classic cars, drawing parallels between the history of the automobile and the brand’s own heritage. ”It is the rigour of design that matters in both cases,” read a statement released from the brand this morning. Photographed by Jack Webb, the campaign was shot in a Berkeley Square car park, and sees models dressed in slick tailoring and elegant leather pieces. The latest in a series of campaigns that mine the brand’s history, Automotive illustrates how Alfred Dunhill’s passion for cars informed his perspective as a designer, a ”defining discovery that changed the whole nature of his brand”. Dunhill’s creative director Mark Weston says, “Alfred Dunhill himself was about change and innovation, with purposeful and multi-functional creations. More than anything else, he was always looking ahead – and that is what drives us.”
