Under designer Julien Dossena’s direction, Parisian house Paco Rabanne has gone from relative outlier to one of the most anticipated shows of the season (accordingly, his team has increased from 10 to 80 in the five years since he took the helm). Known for a distinctly modern take on the house’s signature chainmail, which brought the label to prominence in the 1960s, he now adds menswear to his offering, following a smattering of looks in his Spring/Summer 2020 womenswear show. Spanning chainmail polo tops and vests, floral-print tailoring and a collaboration with seminal graphic designer Peter Saville, the range launches on Matches Fashion today. Of his Paco Rabanne man, Dossena says: “He’s all about androgyny – there’s a delicateness to him. At the same time, he’s a bit of a dandy and feels very free to mix proportions, fabrics and prints in a unique way.”
