Dior Is Collaborating with Shawn Stussy

Dior has teased news of its upcoming men’s pre-fall collection, with the show set to take place tomorrow in Miami. Soundtracked by Georgia’s About Work The Dancefloor (The Black Madonna Remix), the teaser video evokes the spirit of a Miami beach party in the 1990s, with psychedelic lo-fi graphics and flashing typography evocative of 1980-founded skate label Stüssy’s marker-drawn logo. After excited speculation from fans of the French house and Stüssy alike, artistic director of Dior Men’s Kim Jones and skate legend Shawn Stussy – who stepped away from his namesake company in 1996 – both confirmed the rumours via Instagram. “The cat’s out the bag,” writes Stussy. “Kim has brought me out of retirement to work with him and his Dior family on fall 2020. I gotta say here now how good a vibe and how natural this project has felt for me.” Jones wrote on his own Instagram of the collaboration: “I decided to work with someone I consider an artist, who has impacted generations since he signed his name on a surfboard 40 years ago.”
