Hedi Slimane Stages His First Menswear Only Celine Show

Yesterday, at the tail end of Paris Men’s Fashion Week, Hedi Slimane put on his first menswear only Celine show – which was, in actual fact, Celine’s first ever menswear only show too. The collection was, for all intents and purposes, Slimane at his best: luxurious takes on subcultural classics, done in his signature skinny silhouette. Staged in a big black box outside the Dôme des Invalides and featuring a performance from no wave legend James Chance, the collection features bowl cuts and brothel creepers, dip-dye do’s and duffel coats, leather jackets and lace-up boots – not a hoodie, t-shirt or trainer in sight.
