Poet and DJ James Massiah’s New Music Video Is Set in a Heatwave

South London-based poet and DJ James Massiah has released a new music video this week, the track from his upcoming EP Natural Born Killers (Ride for Me), which is out on September 18. “Natural Born Killers AKA Ride For Me, AKA The Myth of Altruism is dedicated to the other half of me, and to you,” says Massiah, whose poetry addresses themes of sexuality, religion, mortality, and philosophy in London today. Massiah’s work has seen him perform with Neneh Cherry on stage at Glastonbury, write poetry for Prince Charles’ 70th birthdayread 101 poems as part of a performance piece at the ICA earlier this year, and feature on the Dazed 100 list in 2017. In the video for Natural Born Killers (Ride for Me), the EP’s title track, Massiah and a cast of characters pass time in a sweltering cityscape (in a heatwave so intense that an egg can fry on the pavement).
