The Jesus and Mary Chain are Working on a Brand New Album

Jim Reid, the lead singer of Scottish shoegaze band The Jesus and Mary Chain, has announced that a new album is in the works. The noise-rock pioneers re-formed in 2017 after an almost 20-year hiatus, releasing comeback record Damage and Joy, which featured unheard material. It seems that their next project will follow suit. “We work best with a deadline because we are the laziest people you can imagine,” said Reid, adding that the new LP will be “mostly new,” but that it will also feature “some songs we’ve had knocking about for a while.” Their US tour with Nine Inch Nails starts on September 13.
