Kim Jones Is Staging His Next Dior Show in Miami

For Kim Jones’ debut Pre-Fall collection for Dior Men’s, the designer headed to Tokyo – a place of special importance to him, and to the house’s founder, M. Christian Dior himself. For his next Pre-Fall offering, taking place in December, the designer will be going abroad once more, this time to Miami – “this capital of contemporary art, an emblem of multicultural modernity,” as Dior puts it. “The US was the first place after France where Christian Dior enjoyed success, and I am looking at a project he did in the 1950s in the States as a starting point for Fall,” says Jones. “I am really looking forward to presenting our first men’s show in the US for this Fall 2020 collection as the perfect precursor to Art Basel.” Having already collaborated with three contemporary artists – KAWS, Hajime Sorayama and Daniel Arsham – Jones’ decision to show in Miami reaffirms the centrality of art to his vision for Dior. We can’t wait to see the collection.
