British Designer Joe Casely-Hayford OBE Has Died Aged 62

Designer and tailor Joe Casely-Hayford, whose clothes were worn by prime ministers and rock stars alike, has passed away after a three-year battle with cancer. Beginning an eponymous label in 1979, he will be remembered for a distinct take on British tailoring, which married Savile Row precision – where he trained at the Tailor and Cutter Academy, alongside Central Saint Martins – with the deconstructed, often anarchic spirit of London’s streets. Awarded an OBE in 2007, in 2009 he began Casely-Hayford with his son Charlie, a multi-generational brand which once again combined contemporary streetwear with classic tailoring, opening their first store on Chiltern Street in 2018. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
