This morning Fashion East announced its new menswear designer line-up, who will be showcasing their A/W19 collections at London Fashion Week Men’s in January. The line-up includes Stefan Cooke, who is returning to the Fashion East catwalk for the third time, as well as two newcomers: Nigerian-born Mowalola Ogunlesi, who is listed in this year’s Dazed 100 and describes her approach to menswear as “celebration of the black African male: his culture, sexuality and desires”; and Dublin-born Robyn Lynch who takes inspiration from her Irish heritage. “The power and simplicity of both Mowalola and Robyn’s singular visions hit me right away at their graduate shows,” commented Fashion East founder Lulu Kennedy. “Theirs is a fabulously concise exercise in storytelling and editing – untroubled by the usual rules and regs – which doesn’t mean their lines don’t have commercial appeal; they’re already being worn.”
