Chanel Is Launching Its First Men’s Make-Up Line

Chanel is launching its first men’s make-up line, starting with three products: a tinted fluid (coming in four colours), a matte moisturising lip balm, and four shades of eyebrow pencil, which will be available in South Korea from September and worldwide from November. Stating that “there is no absolutely feminine or masculine prerequisite”, Chanel’s decision to start doing make-up for men reflects society’s increasingly relaxed attitudes to gender. “By creating Boy de Chanel, its first make-up line for men, Chanel reaffirms the ever-changing codes of an unchanging vision: Beauty is not a matter of gender, it is a matter of style,” the house said in a statement.
