Tomas Maier Is Leaving Bottega Veneta

Tomas Maier is leaving Bottega Veneta, where he has worked as Creative Director since 2001 – when Kering (then known as the Gucci Group) acquired the label. He was personally appointed to the position by Tom Ford and, over his 17-year tenure, transformed the brand into what it is today. “He put it back on the luxury scene and made it an undisputed reference,” said Kering’s CEO François-Henri Pinault in a statement. “With his creative vision, he magnificently showcased the expertise of the house’s artisans. I am deeply grateful to him...” Kering did not comment on Maier’s next move or, indeed, his replacement.
