Dior Is Designing Costumes For BTS’ Upcoming World Tour

Announced this afternoon, Dior will be creating a number of outfits for K-pop band BTS’ upcoming world tour, marking the first time the house has created men’s stage wear for a pop band. Having met Dior’s current artistic director for menswear, Kim Jones, earlier this year, the band say they chose the British designer for his ability to combine couture savoir-faire with cutting-edge technology. “I love BTS because they are really great guys and also super into fashion,” said Jones. “Everyone I know is kind of crazy about them.” The tour, titled Love Yourself: Speak Yourself, will see the seven-member band – who have sold over 10 million records and won Top Duo/Group at last night’s Billboard Awards – travel to various cities, including London, Paris and São Paolo, and wear a series of seven stage costumes by Jones, inspired by the futuristic spirit of his Dior Pre-Fall 2019 collection.
