At last night’s Golden Globes, British actor and Another Man cover star Ben Whishaw won the best supporting actor in a TV limited series award for his role in A Very English Scandal, in which he played Norman Scott – the model at the centre of the Thorpe affair, a major British political scandal of the 1970s. In his acceptance speech, Whishaw dedicated his award to Scott, saying that he “took on the establishment with a courage and defiance that I find completely inspiring,” adding: “He’s a true queer hero, an icon, and Norman, this is for you.”
