Blood Orange Debuts Video for New Song Charcoal Baby

Blood Orange has debuted the video for his new song Charcoal Baby, which was co-written by Porches and features on his upcoming album Negro Swan – out August 24. Released this morning, the video was shot in London – Dev Hynes’ hometown – by moving image artist Akinola Davies aka Crack Stevens, who describes it as a film “exploring the duality of migrant identity, through two adjacent narratives, of cultural limbo and understanding self identity.” “[It offers] a snapshot of the contemporary black British experience, drawing on our expression of joy, uncertainty, inclusivity, anxieties, hope and style,” he says.
